Parenting for Life
Parenting for Life is an 8 week program that helps parents learn more positive ways to think about and act on their child’s behavior, how to communicate with their child more effectively, examination of parenting plans, goals and styles of parenting, the fundamentals of a healthy family, learn positive approaches to discipline, how to set limits and boundaries, discussion of topics of interest to parents (self-esteem, peer pressure, social skills, etc.), and generally exploring many other strategies to enhance the parent child relationship.
Family Transitions Triple P
Family Transitions Triple P is a program for separated, divorced and single parents providing guidance through the separation and divorce process with self care. This course will help parents through moving from a two parent family to a one parent family. The 6 session group is focused on separation and divorce and the parent as a single adult. A traditional triple p program can be taken afterwards. Please see below for further descriptions but note that this course may be slanted towards single parents with somewhat different strategies than the standard triple p programs. Intake interview required.
Positive Parenting Program (Triple P)
Seperate Triple P programs for Children (0-12) and Teens, The Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) for children (0-12) and the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) for Teens, is a unique multi-level family intervention program for the prevention and treatment of behavioral and emotional problems in children. You’ll learn about effective parenting strategies, how to promote your child’s development, how to manage common child behaviour problems, principles to help you deal with almost any situation that might arise. Groups are run by an accredited Triple P practitioners. The program is eight weeks in length, consisting of five two-hour group sessions (once a week) and up to three telephone interview sessions, addressing your individual progress. Pre-screening intake interview is required.

Farsi Positive Parenting for Children
This program, provided in Farsi, will provide parents with tools to help their children with behaviour and emotional issues. This is an 8 week program.
Farsi Positive Parenting for Teens
This 8 week program, provided in Farsi will provide parents with tools to help their teens with behavioural and emotional issues.
FREE to BE
This group for parents/caregivers and their gender independent children will meet once a month. Free to Be offers an opportunity for parents/caregivers to meet for support and education in order to promote positive development and healthy futures. Program goals are: de-stigmatize gender independence and promote the child’s pride and self-worth. The children will be provided a safe, fun and affirming place to be together and make new friends. This program consists of two groups run separately but simultaneously in the same facility.The group for parents will provide education and support whereas the group for children will provide them a safe place to play.
